Odour,Embodiment,and Social Segregation:the Study of Body and Perception form the Perspective of Anthropology
With the turn of body studies in anthropology,body embodiment presents a vivid life form,which contains an emphasis on body perception.Using the research methodology of anthropological fieldwork,we start from the field process and body experience in Xiahe County,Gansu Province,to show the cultural connotations of odour perception for the local Tibetans,and how odour preferences are reflected in the marriage choices and food attributes in the local society,and how odors present the internal logic of social segregation,so as to decipher the life world of the Xiahe Tibetans from the perspective of the body and perception.
