Reading Chi Zijian's works,we often perceive a lingering sense of loneliness,which is not embodied in Lu Xun's im-age of the loner"wandering alone with his halberd",nor different from Xiao Hong's cold and cruel writing of Hulan.Chi Zijian's characters harbor a warm loneliness,and the creation of which is accompanied by the loss of necessity.She breaks into the bottom of social life,writes about the rupture of history at the paradoxical place,and makes good use of imagination to achieve the effect of"en-tering into and exiting out of it",which is sublimated into the aesthetics of loneliness,cherefore opening up a new field of literary criti-cism,and injecting vitality into the development of modern and contemporary literature in China.
