On the Curriculum Construction of Pedagogical English Programs Oriented to Cultivation of Higher-Order Thinking Ability:A Case Study of English Literature
In the context of first-class undergraduate curriculum construction,the curriculum construction of pedagogical English programs should meet professional and vocational requirement,and also need to stick to the principle of the intensive development of humanity.This discipline connotation is specifically exhibited in language learning,thinking training and humanistic value shaping,and the higher-order thinking training is the most important one.The higher-order thinking ability is the embodiment of the students'critical ability and creativity,and should be cultivated in curriculum studies.Against such a background,pedagogical Eng-lish programs should optimize curriculum system and deepen teaching contents to cultivate students'higher-order thinking ability.This model consists of the curriculum system based on the principles of level setting,extensibility,interdisciplinarity and the teaching contents with negotiation of meaning.The course of English Literature explores the innovated teaching concept,recombinant teaching contents and creative teaching methods,which provides a special case for the cultivation of higher-order thinking ability in pedagogical English programs,and also gives some implications for setting up undergraduate program for specialty.
