A Chronological Study of Wang Yuanliang's Poems Written Outside the Great Wall:An Examination of His Route and State of Mind During This Journey
From the 20th to the 22nd year of Kublai Khan's reign in the Yuan Dynasty,Wang Yuanliang embarked on a three-year journey to Shangdu.During this period,he created 14 poems,including"Through the Juyong Pass"and"Outside the Great Wall".Based on the route and the poetry,these 14 poems can be chronologically ordered.In the spring of the 20th year of Zhi Yuan(1283),Wang Yuanliang left Dadu and arrived in Shangdu the same year.In the 22nd year of Zhi Yuan(1285),Wang Yuanliang and his companions passed through Tianshan County in Jingzhou Road,then crossed the Yinshan Mountains,and finally returned to Dadu.
