Objective:To analyze and summarize rattan-derived anti-rheumatic medicinal materials'compatibility rules.Methods:The anti-rheumatic Chinese patent medicines containing rattan were sorted out and the rules of drug use were mined by association rule analysis.The chemical constituents and anti-rheumatic mechanism of rattan-derived medicinal materials were reviewed by literature search.Results:82 kinds of anti-rheumatism Chinese patent medicines containing rattan were screened out,with 37 kinds of rattan involved.Commonly used rattan herbs can be categorized as warming and relieving cold,dispelling wind,and relieving pain,clearing heat and dredging collaterals,removing blood stasis and promoting blood circulation,nourishing blood,and unblocking collaterals.Drugs should be selected according to the ill-ness duration of rheumatism.Rattan herbs are often used in pairs,such as Spatholobi Caulis-Piperis Kadsurae Caulis,Sinomenii Caulis-Piperis Kadsurae Caulis,Piperis Kadsurae Caulis-Trachelospermi Caulis et Folium,etc.The anti-rheumatic substances and therapeutic mechanism of Piperis Kadsurae Caulis,Tinospora sinensis,and Piper wallichii must be further studied.Conclusion:This study will provide ideas and a basis for applying rattan-derived medicinal ma-terials in the field of anti-rheumatism,as well as the research and development of traditional Chinese medicine prepara-tions and innovative traditional Chinese medicine in medical institutions.
