Chronic atrophic gastritis(CAG)is a precancerous state with a high incidence rate,which clinical doctors have widely valued.Traditional Chinese medicine divides CAG into different syndrome types.Previous studies have sug-gested that spleen and stomach weakness syndrome is the source of the occurrence and transmission of CAG.Early treatment can help delay the next step of disease transmission,and even have a reversal effect.Traditional Chinese med-icine(TCM)has shown it has unique advantages and significant therapeutic effects in improving symptoms and pathol-ogy by adjusting medication according to the symptoms.Therefore,TCM syndrome differentiation is combined with Western medicine's understanding of microecology,serological examination,and gastroscopy to analyze the correlation between various indicators and endoscopic manifestations with TCM syndrome differentiation.The research progress on spleen and stomach weakness syndrome and its concurrent syndromes in CAG is summarized from the aspects of TCM etiology and pathogenesis,medication,prescription selection,and external treatment methods,to provide a basis for sub-sequent CAG related research.
