On the Ethical Narration in the Chapter-titled Novels of Chivalrous and the Evolution of Women's Concept in Ming and Qing Dynasties
During the Ming and Qing dynasties,chivalrous chapter-titled novels developed and prospered,and the gender existence of female characters drew more and more attention.The female concept reflected by ethical narration was gradually enhanced,and the role of women in the works was also becoming more prominent.This reflects the Ming and Qing novelists were gradually having the in-depth understanding of social reality,which is more in line with the aesthetic interest of the lower classes,thus bringing a new look to the creation of chivalrous novels.The reasons are related to the changes of social environment,the influences of cultural trends,the renewal of creative ideas and the development of literature and art.However,since ethical and moral norms were still dominant in feudal times,women could only achieve the success of life values by obeying the inherent setting of gender roles and entering the traditional order of ethics.
