Research on Trade Openness and Carbon Emission Efficiency Improvement of Provinces Along the"Belt and Road"in China
China has made positive contributions to global green development since the"Belt and Road"Initiative was proposed 10 years ago.As the vanguard of the high-quality development of the"Belt and Road"Initiative, the provinces along the"Belt and Road"are not only important regional entities to promote the high-quality development of China's foreign trade and build a new pattern of foreign trade development, but also a key component of actively responding to climate change and implementing the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.Taking the provinces along the""Belt and Road""as object, this paper measures the carbon emission efficiency of 16 provinces along the"Belt and Road"from 2010 to 2020,uses trade dependence to measure the degree of trade openness along the provinces, and examines the relationship between trade openness and carbon emission efficiency along the provinces. The higher the level of trade openness in the provinces along the"Belt and Road",the higher the carbon emission efficiency. Therefore,it is necessary to formulate policies on foreign trade and carbon emission reduction in various provinces along the"Belt and Road"according to local conditions, give full play to the role of relevant policy combinations in promoting the coordinated development of trade opening and low-carbon economy, accelerate the transformation of green scientific and technological achievements, and promote the continuous optimization of the industrial structure of provinces along the"Belt and Road".At the same time,we will continue to expand opening-up,continuously improve the efficiency of carbon emissions, achieve a win-win situation between the high-quality development of foreign trade and environmental protection, further strengthen the green background of the high-quality development of the"Belt and Road"Initiative, and inject strong momentum into global sustainable development.
