On Su Shi's Historic Contribution to the Development of Dengzhou
During the Northern Song Dynasty,Su Shi was once appointed as the prefect of Dengzhou.Although his tenure was only a few days,Su Shi's profound concern for the nation and the people,along with his extraordinary poetic talent,forged an indelible bond with Dengzhou,leaving behind timeless achievements and outstanding works that are still celebrated today.Among them,the article of Recall the Dengzhou Naval Army strengthened Dengzhou's armed forces.In his Repeal the Que Salt Law of Dengzhou and Laizhou,Su Shi advocated for the abolition of the monopoly system of salt sales in Dengzhou,which benefited the people of Dengzhou and Laizhou and continued to do so until the Qing Dynasty.His masterpiece Sea Market in Dengzhou and other poems related to Dengzhou have left a tremendous cultural legacy for the city's development,greatly enhancing Dengzhou's historical status.
