Reshaping the historical and cultural charm of the ancient city is an urgent requirement for preserving historical and cultural heritage,an important carrier for inheriting excellent traditional culture,a necessary choice to improve urban functions and enhance residents'happiness,and a key measure to promote the high-quality de-velopment of cultural tourism industries.This article adheres to a problem-oriented approach and proposes that re-shaping the historical and cultural charm of Dengzhou Ancient City should be guided by principles of protection and restoration,supported by historical context,and focused on fostering new formats and revitalizing the area.It sug-gests creating concentrated cultural experience areas in the ancient city,developing it as a hub for night economy activities,nurturing intangible cultural heritage industries,and offers these suggestions as reference points for other regions.
