Research on Industrial High-quality Development Under the Constraint of Environmental Goals
Based on the evaluation of industrial high-quality development using entropy method,this paper uses the panel data from 2003 to 2021 and DID method to identify the influence of constraint of environmental goals on industrial high-quality development.It shows that constraint of environmental goals can enhance industrial high-quality develop-ment.This conclusion is still robust after parallel trend test,excluding the interference of relevant policies,and using prefecture level city number in the same province and river density as instrumental variables for endogenous analysis.Mechanism analysis shows that constraint of environmental goals can promote industrial high-quality development by strengthening environmental regulation and increasing fiscal research expenditure.Further heterogeneity analysis shows that constraint of environmental goals mainly promotes industrial high-quality development of eastern and western cities.It provides support and reference for industrial high-quality development and formulation of related policies.
