Multi-warehouse Coordinated Sorting Optimization of Multi-item Orders in Large-scale Online Supermarkets
The sorting process of multi-item orders in large-scale online supermarkets plays a pivotal role in order fulfillment, significantly impacting the efficiency and quality of the entire process. In the context of the"multi-warehouse in one metropolitan area"inventory mode adopted by large-scale online supermarkets,we address the sorting challenges associated with multi-item orders in a multi-warehouse setting,by introducing the concept of coordinated production and proposing a multi-warehouse coordinated sorting strategy. With the goal of minimizing the total waiting time for consolidating all of the split-order packages within the designated distribution center,we formulate an optimization model to achieve coordinated sorting of multi-item orders across multiple warehouses. To solve the model,we propose a segmented genetic algorithm and verify the algorithm's effectiveness through illustrative examples. Our results suggest that the multi-warehouse coordinated sorting strategy surpasses the traditional first-come-first-served sorting strategy, resulting in a notable enhancement in the efficiency of order sorting and consolidation. It also exhibits superiority in handling the challenges posed by the coordinated order sorting in a multi-warehouse setting. This research serves to offer theoretical guidance for order sorting and consolidation fulfillment of split-orders in large-scale online supermarkets.
