Ancient Shanxi poetry is an important part of Chinese literary history.In terms of its historical development,Shanxi poetry started relatively early in the history of poetry.After the transition from the"Qiy-an"style to the use of both long and short lines was completed in the late Tang and Five Dynasties,Shanxi poet-ry entered a period of development.The Song and Ming Dynasties were relatively quiet periods in the history of Shanxi poetry,while the Jin and Yuan Dynasties and the Qing Dynasty witnessed a relatively flourishing period.During the Jin and Yuan Dynasties,the community of Shanxi poets was the largest and most influential regional group of poets at the time.Shanxi poetry also thrived during the Qing Dynasty,with numerous poets and a wide range of themes and styles that incorporated elements from previous generations,demonstrating a synthesis of characteristics.
