Advances in Molecular Mechanisms of Myeloid-Derived Growth Factor
Myeloid-derived growth factor is a protein secreted by bone marrow-derived monocytes and macrophages. It has unique structural characteristics, does not belong to any known family of cytokines or growth factors, and has very low homology with other protein sequences. It is evolutionarily highly conserved and exists in the endoplasmic reticulum, the Golgi apparatus, and extracellu-lar.In the current research,myeloid-derived growth factor may play a role in cardiovascular and metabolic diseases through cell proliferation, cell differentiation, cell apoptosis, and inflammation-related signaling pathways.Exploring the molecular mechanisms of myeloid-derived growth factor in these diseases will help to understand its potential therapeutic use. This review reviewed the protein characteristics of myeloid-derived growth factor and its development in signaling pathways in different disease models. The structure recombination expression, signaling pathway and application of myeloid-derived growth factor were reviewed in this paper, which pro-vided the basis for further research and application of the molecular mechanism of myeloid-derived growth factor.
