The Dead is a short story composed by the Irish,author James Augustine Aloysius Joyce,and it is included in his collection Dubliners.This essay focuses on the associations related to the short story.And all of these associations almost have nothing to do with the contemporary social background or any hint of the piece's historical meaning; its mere emphasis is to be put on the literary work itself.And the recreation extends upon the heroine Gretta's psychological and conscious changes.These changes are subjective inspirations firmly rooted on the original story.This essay can be interpreted as some sort of recreation.
