Abstract
The Great Gatsby, a novel with the characteristic of myth, is Fitzgerald' s masterpiece.Aecording to Frye' s Archetypal criticism, archetype could be the characters, plots, themes and so on.Thus, this study aims to analyze archetypes of Gatsby by adopting the archetypal criticism, and make readers get a better understanding of Gatsby and his short life.
