Earth, the Omnipresent Heroine:An Ecofeministic Study on "Yellow Woman"
Leslie Marmon Silko is an accomplished Native American contemporary writer.Her unique ethic identity endows her with insight in the relationship between men, women and earth.In her famous short story, there is abundant nature writing.The young Laguna Pueblo woman not only meets the Ka' tsina spirit there, but also interacts with earth or the nature.Sun, the earth, the river, wildflowers, willows, horses, the man and the young woman form a harmonious world.Earth is an omnipresent but invisible heroine accompanying the young woman like a mother.Through the ecofeministic exploration of the relationship between nature writing and feminism in "Yellow Woman", the matriarchal society, in which man, woman and earth enjoy the equality and freedom, is presented.
