摘要
按照乔姆斯基的约束论,A、B、C三原则不是后天习得而是天生的.针对部分研究显示儿童遵循A原则和C原则而违背B原则,即B原则可能不是天生的问题,综述约束论及其发展,指出儿童违背B原则并不意味着其不是天生的.相反,试验显示儿童理解B原则的句法,而其违背B原则可能为语义或者语用方面的原因.
Abstract
According to Chomsky's binding theory,Principles A,B and C should be innate,i.e.children should have the knowledge of Principle A,B and C which they do not need to learn.Some researches indicate that children initially violate Principle B of the Binding Theory,while they follow Principles A and C,which means that Principle B may not be innate.This essay examines the binding theory and its development.The main view from literature is that although children initially violate Principle B of the Binding Theory,it does not mean that Principle B is not innate.Children violating principle B may be due to some semantic or pragmatic reason rather than syntactic grammar of Principle B.
