Abstract
Taking into consideration the similarities and differences between cultures,this paper discusses the effective translation strategies adopted in English and Chinese numerical idioms,which also combines the relationships of form and meaning between them.The most common translation strategies adopted in English and Chinese numerical idioms involve substitution,domestication,free translation,and literal translation plus annotation.
