Literature Review on the Development of Speech Perception Theories

摘要
针对在母语和二语习得中语音感知发展的研究,学者们提出了不同的观点.本文综述了保持/失去理论(the Maintenance/Loss)和功能恢复理论(the Functional Reorganization)这两种主要的语音感知发展理论,并就这两种理论的依据进行了对比比较.现有的证据显示功能恢复理论对语音感知发展的解释最有说服力.
Abstract
Different theories have been proposed to explain the development of speech perception both in the native language and the second language acquisition.This essay examines the Maintenance/Loss theory and the Functional Reorganization theory-two of the most influential theories for the development of speech perception and evidences are discussed with the conclusion that the Functional Reorganization theory is a better theory for the explanation of the mechanisms underlying the development of speech perception.
