The Emergence of Yang Shen's Postil Version of Wen Xin Diao Long
Yang Shen,one of the representative literati in Mid-Ming Dynasty,was immensely influ-ential.The first postil of Wen Xin Diao Long during Ming Dynasty composed by Yang Shen reveals the turning point of not only the life of Yang Shen,but also the progress of literary ideas in Ming Dynasty,leading the tide of posterior postils of Wen Xin Diao Long.Former scholarships didn't examine the time of its formation closely,and was unable to discover the clues hidden in Yang Shen's other publications and his life experience.Through analysis,I notice that the specific time of Yang's composition was the fourth year of Jiajing.This reveals Yang Shen's swift of literary focus from Pre-Qin and Han literature to litera-ture of the Six Dynasties,emphasizing the importance of feelings(qing),and making efforts to combine the tradition of Feng-Ya with the aesthetic style of the Six Dynasties.This shows the conversation be-tween individuals like Yang and his friend,or even the entire literature territory,exhibiting the cultural e-cology of Jiajing Period.
