The Interlingual Interpretation of Liu Xie's Organic View and Its Rectification
Wenxin Diaolong is comprehensive in scope and profound in thought, unmatched by its con-temporaries.Its global significance primarily stems from its holistic literary framework and discourse log-ic,closely tied to Liu Xie's organic view.Given the high regard for systematic poetics in the Western tradi-tion,since the mid-20th century, overseas sinologists have begun to explore various dimensions of Liu Xies organic view. This interlingual interpretation has consequently entered the field of Chinese literary criticism in the West. This paper examines interlingual interpretations of the four dimensions of Liu Xie's organic view, assesses the theoretical value of"reconstruction"in sinological studies, and rectifies"mis-readings".The study finds that the"reconstruction"and"misreadings"of Liu Xie's organic view during its dissemination and study abroad have,on the one hand, created a scholarly space for dialogue between Chi-nese and Western perspectives, and on the other hand, inspired local scholars of dragon studies and literar-y theory to reflect on the modern value of traditional Chinese literary theory,as well as to cultivate a cul-tural awareness for its modern transformation.
