The asctiption and recognition of a specific social action is a pivotal and primary aspect of elucidating the research object and conducting corpus extraction.The ascription and recognition of an ac-tion cannot be determined solely by static criteria such as a definition;rather,it must be viewed as a cruci-al point of reference for communication and response.Utilizing the comforting sequence as a case study,this paper aims to demonstrate how to comprehend,distinguish,and define a particular action under the theoretical framework of conversation analysis by explicating the concept of the action itself,outlining the process of action recognition,ascertaining the role of sequence organization,and examining the differentia-tion and connection between sequences of action and related sequences.The objective is to furnish a think-ing pathway for other action sequences research.
