Study on the Differences of Universal Quantification Expressions Between The New History of the Five Dynasties and Zutang Ji From the Perspective of Register-stylistic Grammar
What are the differences between spoken language and written language is an important question that the academic circles have been seeking to answer for a long time.Taking The New History of the Five Dynasties in written language and Zutang Ji in spoken language as typical corpus,this paper makes an exhaustive investigation on the Universal Quantification expressions.The following phenomenon is found:Firstly,the total amount of expressions used in The New History of the Five Dynasties is much more than that in Zutang Ji.Secondly,among the specific means of expression,the vocabulary format of The New History of the Five Dynasties is"all stars support the moon",and Zutang Ji is"harmonious coexistence".The New History of the Five Dynasties uses more and richer syntactic formats than Zutang Ji.This shed light on the opinion of the written language is more inclined to"compact"expression means,while the spoken language is more inclined to"loose"expression means.
