Analysis of the Effect of Combined Application of MRI and CT in the Diagnosis and Condition Assessment of Spinal Tuberculosis
Objective:To analyse the effect of the combined application of magnetic resonance imag-ing(MRI)and CT in the diagnosis and condition assessment of spinal tuberculosis. Methods:a total of 76 patients with spinal tuberculosis in our hospital from January 2019 to December 2023 were selected as the study subjects, and the patients were examined by MRI,CT,and combined examination respectively. The application value of different examination modalities in diagnosis as well as condition assessment was compared. Results:The diagnostic rate of MRI examination was 90.79%(69/76),which was significantly higher than that of CT examination(77.63%)(59/76)(x2=4.948,P=0.026).The diagnostic rate of the com-bined examination of MRI and CT was 98.68%(75/76),which was higher than that of the MRI examina-tion alone(x2=4.750,P=0.029)and CT examination(x2=16.133,P=0.000).In terms of detection of patho-logical features,MRI had a higher detection rate of invasion of the dural mater and spinal cord and sub-ligamentous dissemination than CT(P<0.05),while CT had a higher detection rate of sequestra and calci-fication than MRI(P<0.05).The detection rate of each pathological feature was significantly higher with the combined examination than with MRI or CT alone(P<0.05).Conclusion:MRI and CT both have cer-tain application value in the diagnosis and condition assessment of spinal tuberculosis.Through the joint examination,it can play a good complementary role, further improve the accuracy of diagnosis and condi-tion assessment,so as to avoid the occurrence of misdiagnosis and omission of diagnosis. It is worthwhile to promote the application of this method in the clinic.
