Comparison of Multislice Spiral CT and MR in Carotid Artery Stenosis and Atherosclerotic Plaque
Objective:To compare the application value of multi-slice spiral CT(MSCT)and MR in the diagnosis of atherosclerotic plaque and carotid artery stenosis. Methods:A total of 120 patients with atherosclerotic plaque and carotid artery stenosis in our hospital from February 2020 to February 2022 were retrospectively selected. They were divided into two groups according to diagnostic methods:MSCT group and MR Group, with 60 patients in each group.Atherosclerotic plaque, carotid artery stenosis,ex-amination time, cost, and patient satisfaction were statistically analyzed in the two groups. Results:There was no significant difference in the detection rate of atherosclerotic plaques between the two groups(x2=1.06,P>0.05).The detection rate of fibrous plaques in the MSCT group was 30.00%(18/60)lower than that in the MR Group(53.33%(32/60)(P<0.05).The detection rate of calcified plaque was 43.33%(26/60)higher than that of MR Group(26.67%(16/60)(P<0.05).However,there were no significant differences in the detection rates of lipid plaque and mixed plaque between the two groups(P>0.05).There was no significant difference in carotid artery stenosis rate between the MSCT group and MR Group(x2=0.10,P>0.05).Among these, the ratios were not significantly different(P>0.05).The examination time in MSCT group was shorter than that in MR group(P<0.05),and the cost was lower than that in MR group(P<0.05).The satisfaction rate of patients in the MSCT group was 73.33%(44/60)lower than that in the MR group(96.67%(58/60)(x2=4.71,P<0.05).Conclusion:The application value of MSCT and MR in the di-agnosis of atherosclerotic plaque and carotid artery stenosis is basically equal.MSCT is more suitable for the diagnosis of calcified plaque, while MR is more suitable for the diagnosis of fibrous plaque. It is worth noting that the satisfaction level of MR is significantly higher than that of MSCT.The examination method can be reasonably selected according to the actual condition of patients.
