Clinical Analysis of Placental Blood Flow Assessment Using by Superb Microvascular Imaging in Normal Second and Third Trimester Pregnancies
Objective:To evaluate the value of quantitative assessment of placental blood perfusion in normal second and third trimester pregnancies using superb microvascular imaging(SMI)technology.Methods:88 healthy pregnant women who underwent routine antenatal care in our hospital between March 2022 and December 2023,with gestational ages ranging from 22 to 40 weeks, were enrolled. All participants underwent SMI examination via color Doppler ultrasound.According to the gestational age of pregnant women, they were divided into four groups:Group A(22 to 28 weeks,n=23),Group B(28+to 32 weeks,n=24)and Group C(32+to 36 weeks,n=21)and Group D(36 weeks+to 40 weeks,n=20)of preg-nant women. Results:The placental vessels in group A showed punctate distribution, while the placental vessels in group B,C and D were dendritic, with thickened blood vessels and more branches. With the in-crease of gestational age,the vascularization index(VI),flow index(FI),and vascularization-flow index(VFI)of pregnant placenta increased significantly(P<0.05).Conclusion:SMI technique is helpful to ob-serve the situation of placental blood perfusion,VI,FI and VFI values can quantitatively evaluate placen-tal blood perfusion, provide data for the diagnosis and prediction of placental insufficiency perfusion re-lated diseases in obstetrics, and guide the treatment.
