Application of empathy map combined with role simulation in the training of pediatric nurses
Objective To explore the influence of empathy map combined with role simulation training on the post competency, humanistic care ability, and clinical communication ability of nurses in Department of Pediatrics. Methods A total of 106 nurses who worked in the Department of Pediatrics at the First Affiliated Hospital of Air Force Medical University from October 2021 to June 2023 were enrolled as the research subjects. They were divided into control group and observation group using the random number table method, with 53 nurses in each group. The control group received routine training, while the observation group received empathy map combined with role simulation training. The post competency, humanistic care ability, and clinical communication ability of nurses after training and patient family member satisfaction were compared.SPSS 22.0 was used to perform the t test. Results After training, the score of Competency Inventory for Registered Nurse in both groups was increased, and the score was significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group[(192.38±10.65)vs.(173.64±15.48),P<0.05].After training, the score of Caring Ability Inventory was increased in both groups, and the score was significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group[(221.61±20.24)vs.(208.55±19.07),P<0.05].After training, the score of Clinical Nurse Communication Ability Scale was increased in both groups, and the score was significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group[(233.97±47.14)vs.(210.90±49.02),P<0.05].Conclusions Empathy map combined with role simulation training is conducive to improving the post competency, humanistic care ability, and clinical communication ability of pediatric nurses, and can be further promoted in nursing training.
