Progress of the Role of Neutrophils in Drug-Induced Liver Injury
In the disease progression of drug-induced liver injury(DILI),the role of neutrophils recruited into the liver in aggravating liver injury through various ways has attracted wide attention. However, the mechanisms underlying neutrophil-mediated liver injury in direct, indirect, and idiotypic DILI vary and require further investigation. This review aims to elucidate the role of neutrophils in exacerbating DILI-associated hepatic damage and explore their distinct actions in acetaminophen-,triptolide-,and pyrrolixidine alkaloid-induced direct DILI,halothane-induced idiotypic DILI,as well as immune checkpoint inhibitor-induced indirect DILI.These findings may offer valuable insights and strategies for understanding the pathogenesis and treatment of DILI.
