Clinical Efficacy of Multiloc Intramedullary Nail in the Treatment of Osteoporotic Proximal Humeral Fractures in the Elderly
Objective To investigate the clinical treatment effect of Multiloc intramedullary nail on osteoporotic proximal humeral fracture in the elderly patients. Methods A total of 47 elderly patients with osteoporotic proximal humeral fracture admitted to Beijing Chuiyangliu Hospital from March 2017 to June 2020 were selected and divided into observation group(24 patients)and control group(23 patients)according to the operation method. The control group was treated with Phlios plate internal fixation, and the observation group was treated with Multiloc intramedullary nail internal fixation. The surgical indicators,Visual Analogue Pain Scale(VAS)score,European Shoulder Association score(Constant)and complications before and after surgery were compared between the two groups. Results The operation time, hospitalization time and intraoperative blood loss in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).At the last follow-up,the VAS score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, and the Constant score of shoulder joint function was higher than that of the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total incidence of postoperative complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Multiloc intramedullary nail fixation can effectively improve the shoulder joint function for the treatment of osteoporotic proximal humeral fractures in the elderly, with less pain and fewer complications, which is conducive to the recovery of shoulder joint activity.
