Analysis of Common Diseases and its Influencing Factors Among Students of a University in Baotou City in 2021
Objective To understand the health status and influencing factors of students at a university in Baotou city.Methods In October 2021,students from grade one to grade three of a university in Baotou city were taken as the research objects.The physical indicators of students were measured on site to understand the prevalence of common diseases such as low vision,abnormal body mass index and dental caries among college students.The questionnaire survey was used to analyze the influence of grade,gender,diet and living habits on the above diseases.Results The prevalence of poor eyesight among freshmen,sophomores and juniors was 87.50%,86.90%and 92.93%,respectively(H=6.665,P=0.036),which was associated with the average time of using electronic products every day in a week(x2=13.326,P=0.038).The lean rate,overweight rate and obesity rate of students were 13.65%,13.65%and 7.01%,respectively,which were associated with the frequency of drinking sugary drinks in the past 7 days(H=6.871,P=0.032).The caries rates of freshmen,sophomores and juniors were 33.02%,17.89%and 36.43%,respectively,the difference in caries rate between different grades was statistically significant(x2=8.219,P=0.016).The rates of tooth loss and dental caries in boys and girls were 4.29%,17.12%and 13.36%,33.78%,respectively,there were statistically significant differences in the rates of tooth loss and dental caries between different genders(x2=4.413,6.949,P=0.036,0.008).Conclusion The visual acuity of college students is related to grade and the average time of using electronic products every day in a week.Caries and tooth loss are related to grade and gender.Body mass index is related to the frequency of drinking sugary drinks in the past 7 days.
