An Experimental Study on the Influence of Different Emotions on Children's and Adolescents'Creativity
Objective To study the influence of emotion and subject source on the creativity of children and adolescents through experiments,in order to provide a new perspective for the cultivation of creativity of children and adolescents. Methods From October 2020 to June 2021,children and adolescents aged 8-16 years old were selected as the research objects in Shaanxi provincial general middle school and psychiatric hospital respectively.A 2x2 mixed experimental design was used. The independent variable was 2(induced emotion:excited emotion, calm emotion)x2(subject source:school, hospital),in which emotion was used as the within-subject variable and the subject source was used as the between-subject variable. The experiment was divided into school group and hospital group. Each group completed the creative power scale after the excitement and calm emotions were aroused respectively. The number of answers and Top2 scores in the creative power scale of the two groups were compared, and the effects of different emotions on the fluency and originality of creativity of children and adolescents from different sources were observed. Results Group by emotion:among the hospital group, there was significant difference in the number of answers and Top2 scores of children and adolescents under different emotions(P<0.05);among the school group, there was no significant difference in the number of answers and Top2 scores of children and adolescents under different emotions(P>0.05).Group by source:under the positive emotion, there was a statistically significant difference in the number of answers of children and adolescents from different sources(P<0.05),while there was no significant difference in Top2 scores of children and adolescents from different sources(P>0.05);under the calm emotion, there was a statistically significant difference in the number of answers of children and adolescents from different sources(P<0.05),while there was no significant difference in Top2 scores of children and adolescents from different sources(P>0.05).The results of ANOVA showed that when the dependent variable was the number of answers, the main effect of emotion was significant F(1,121)=9.545,and the interaction effect of emotion and the source of subjects was significant F(1,121)=14.932,while the main effect of the source of subjects was not significant;when the dependent variable was Top2 scores, the main effect of emotion was significant F(1,121)=0.561,and the interaction effect of emotion and subject source was significant F(1,121)=0.183,while the main effect of subject source was not significant. Conclusion In contrast, excited emotion is more conducive to improving the fluency of creativity of school children and adolescents, excited emotion is more conducive to improving the originality of creativity of hospital children and adolescents, and calm emotion is more conducive to improving the fluency of creativity of hospital children and adolescents. There is a significant interaction between data sources and emotions on the impact of creativity, and different emotions have different effects on creativity improvement in different populations.
