Application of Mobile Health-based Information Support Among Rural Elderly Cancer Patients After Discharge
Objective To investigate the effects of mobile health-based information support on the quality of life and nutritional status of rural elderly cancer patients after discharge. Methods A total of 110 rural elderly cancer patients discharged from the oncology department of a affiliated hospital of North Sichuan Medical College from April 2021 to October 2022 were selected and randomly divided into an experimental group and a control group, with 55 patients in each group. The control group received routine continuous nursing, while the experimental group received mobile health-based information support in addition to routine nursing. After 6 months, the nutritional indicators[body mass index(BMI),serum albumin, total protein, serum prealbumin],QLQ-C30 score and mastery of disease knowledge were compared between the two groups. Results BMI and total protein in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in serum albumin and serum prealbumin between the two groups(P>0.05).The overall health status score of the experimental group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).Among the five functional areas, except"social function",there were statistically significant differences in the scores of the other four areas between the two groups(P<0.05).The score of cancer-related knowledge in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Mobile health-based information support can effectively improve disease knowledge literacy, improve nutritional status, and enhance the quality of life of rural elderly cancer patients after discharge. It has certain clinical application value.
