Efficacy of Polyinosinic:Polycytidylic Acid Copolymer Combined with Ganciclovir Ophthalmic Gel in the Treatment of Ocular Herpes Zoster
Objective To study the efficacy of polyinosinic:polycytidylic acid copolymer combined with ganciclovir ophthalmic gel in the treatment of ocular herpes zoster. Methods A total of 100 patients with ocular herpes zoster admitted to Tianjin Eye Hospital from October 2021 to February 2023 were divided into control group and observation group by random number table method, with 50 patients in each group. The control group was treated with ganciclovir ophthalmic gel,and the observation group was treated with polyinosinic:polycytidylic acid copolyme combined with ganciclovir ophthalmic gel.The clinical efficacy, symptom regression time(swelling, herpes, eye stimulation),pain degree[Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)],herpes wound healing time and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was 88.00%,which was higher than 72.00%in the control group(P<0.05).The time of swelling, herpes, eye irritation symptom regression in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group(P<0.05).The VAS score of the two groups after treatment was lower than that before treatment, and the VAS score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).The healing time of herpes wound in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the observation group and the control group(P>0.05).Conclusion Polyinosinic:polycytidylic acid copolymer combined with ganciclovir ophthalmic gel is effective in the treatment of ocular herpes zoster, which can promote the regression of symptoms, reduce the pain degree, accelerate wound healing, and has good drug safety.
