Analysis of the Current Situation and Demand Expectation of Internet Appointment Registration for Minority Patients in Remote Areas
Objective To fully understand the real situation of minority patients using Internet appointment registration in remote areas,and to put forward targeted countermeasures and suggestions for improving the"Internet+medical"appointment platform mechanism and effectively benefiting minority groups in remote areas.Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted to investigate the use of Internet appointment registration in 816 minority patients and 702 Han patients in four remote areas of ethnic minorities in Yunnan Province from June to September 2022.Qualitative research:Semi-structured interview was used.In September 2022,a purposeful sampling method was used to select 25 minority patients in remote areas of Yunnan Province for semi-structured in-depth interviews to understand the relevant supplementary factors affecting the Internet registration behavior and demand expectations of minority patients in remote areas.Results The awareness rate of Internet appointment registration system in minority patients(62.62%)in remote areas was much lower than that in Han patients(70.51%),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The minority patients in remote areas[(17.38±2.15)scores]had higher overall support needs for the appointment system than the Han patients[(16.23±3.24)scores],and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Qualitative research extracted four themes,namely,insufficient publicity and promotion,passive completion of appointments,traditional inherent concepts,and appointment system expectations.Conclusion Medical and health service institutions need to further improve the intelligent medical appointment diagnosis and treatment system,strengthen the construction of"Internet+medical"platform in ethnic minority areas,improve publicity,strive to break through digital information barriers,and realize the localization and age-appropriate development of intelligent medical treatment.
