Effect of Safflower Yellow Pigment for Injection on Lower Limb Swelling and Quality of Life in Patients with Hip Fracture
Objective To study the effect of safflower yellow pigment for injection(SYI)on lower limb swelling and quality of life in patients with hip fracture.Methods A total of 60 patients with hip fracture admitted to Hukou County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from August 2020 to August 2023 were selected and divided into control group(30 patients)and observation group(30 patients)by random number table method.Both groups received surgical treatment.The control group received routine postoperative medication,and the observation group received SYI on the basis of the control group.The lower limb swelling(affected thigh circumference,calf circumference),postoperative pain[Visual Analogue Scale(VAS)],swelling regression time,off-bed weight-bearing time,lower extremity deep venous thrombosis(LDVT)incidence,quality of life[World Health Organization Quality of Life-BREF(WHOQOL-BREF)]were compared between the two groups.Results The thigh circumference and calf circumference of the two groups 3 days after operation were larger than those before operation,but the thigh circumference and calf circumference of the observation group were smaller than those of the control group(P＜0.05).The VAS score of the observation group at 1 day and 3 days after operation was lower than that of the control group(P＜0.05).The swelling regression time and off-bed weight-bearing time in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group,and the incidence of LDVT was lower than that in the control group(P＜0.05).The scores of WHOQOL-BREF in the two groups at discharge were higher than those before operation,and the scores of WHOQOL-BREF in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P＜0.05).Conclusion SYI can alleviate the degree of lower limb swelling in patients with hip fracture,reduce postoperative pain,accelerate lower limb rehabilitation,reduce the risk of LDVT,and improve the quality of life of patients.
