Effect of Cetirizine Combined with Budesonide Inhalation on Pulmonary Function in Children with Acute Attack of Asthma
Objective To investigate the effect of cetirizine combined with budesonide on pulmonary function in children with acute attack of asthma. Methods A total of 78 children with acute exacerbation of asthma who were treated in Xinfeng County People's Hospital from March 2020 to March 2022 were selected as the research objects. They were divided into control group and observation group by random number table method, with 39 children in each group. The control group was treated with budesonide inhalation, and the observation group was treated with budesonide combined with cetirizine.Pulmonary function[forced expiratory volume in the first second(FEV1),forced vital capacity(FVC)and peak expiratory flow rate(PEFR)],clinical efficacy, inflammatory indexes[interleukin-6(IL-6),interleukin-10(IL-10),C-reactive protein(CRP)]and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. Results FEV1,FVC and PEFR in the observation group were better than those in the control group(P<0.05).The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).The levels of IL-6 and CRP in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, and the level of IL-10 was higher than that in the control group(P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Cetirizine combined with budesonide is effective in the treatment of acute attack of asthma in children, which can improve the lung function of children, and has good anti-inflammatory effect and safety. It is worthy of clinical application.
