Study on the Effect of Resin Overlay and HRi Inlay in the Treatment of Molar Defect
Objective To study the clinical effect of resin overlay and HRi inlay in the treatment of molar defect. Methods A total of 68 patients with molar defects admitted to our hospital from January 2022 to October 2023 were selected as the research objects, with 100 affected teeth. According to the different use of inlays, the patients were divided into resin overlay group (50 teeth) and HRi inlay group (50 teeth). The treatment effect, incidence of tooth defects, periodontal health indicators (attachment level, probing depth of periodontal pocket, gingival bleeding index) and treatment satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results There was no significant difference in the success rate of treatment between the resin overlay group (96.00%) and the HRi inlay group (98.00%) (P>0.05). The incidence of tooth defects in the HRi inlay group (4.00%) was lower than that in the resin overlay group (12.00%) (P<0.05). The attachment level, periodontal pocket depth and gingival bleeding index of the two groups after treatment were lower than those before treatment (P<0.05),but there was no significant difference between the resin overlay group and the HRi inlay group (P>0.05). There was no significant difference in treatment satisfaction between the resin overlay group (98.00%) and the HRi inlay group (100.00%) (P>0.05).Conclusion Both resin overlay and HRi inlay group can achieve ideal results in the treatment of molar defects, and both can show good aesthetics and good marginal fit in the observation time limit, and the patients are satisfied with the treatment. However, the incidence of dental defects treated with resin overlay restoration is relatively low,and the repair materials can be reasonably selected according to the actual needs.
