Clinical Value of Combined Detection of Bone Alkaline Phosphatase Activity and Bone Mineral Density in Early Diagnosis of Rickets in Children
Objective To investigate the clinical value of bone alkaline phosphatase (BALP) activity combined with bone mineral density in early diagnosis of rickets in children. Methods A total of 72 infants with rickets admitted to Xingguo County Maternal and Child Health Hospital from January 2022 to December 2023 were selected as the observation group, and they were divided into the initial stage, active stage, recovery stage and sequelae stage. In addition,72 healthy infants who underwent physical examination in our hospital during the same period were selected as the control group. The levels of BALP and bone mineral density were compared between the two groups and the observation group at different stages. The diagnostic efficacy of BALP combined with bone mineral density in children with rickets was analyzed, including diagnostic sensitivity, specificity, accuracy, missed diagnosis rate and misdiagnosis rate. Results The BALP level of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the bone mineral density was lower than that of the control group (P<0.05). In the observation group, the BALP levels of children in the active stage, recovery stage and sequelae stage were higher than those in the initial stage, and the bone mineral density levels of children in the active stage, recovery stage and sequelae stage were lower than those in the initial stage (P<0.05). The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of BALP combined with bone mineral density in the diagnosis of rickets in children were higher than those of BALP and bone mineral density alone, and the missed diagnosis rate and misdiagnosis rate of combined detection were lower than those of single detection (P<0.05).Conclusion The levels of BALP and bone mineral density are closely related to rickets in children, which are of great value in the early diagnosis of rickets in children, and the combined detection of the two can further improve the diagnostic accuracy.
