Expression and Significance of EGF,MMP-2 and IL-6 in Cataract Patients
Objective To investigate the expression and significance of EGF,MMP-2 and IL-6 in serum of cataract patients. Methods A total of 60 patients with cataract treated in Changyi People's Hospital from February 2018 to February 2023 were selected as the experimental group, and 60 healthy people who came to the hospital for physical examination during the same period were selected as the control group. The expression levels of serum EGF,MMP-2 and IL-6 in the two groups were detected by ELISA.And the relationship between EGF,MMP-2,IL-6 and clinical indexes of cataract patients was investigated, andthe correlation between EGF and MMP-2,IL-6was analyzed. Results The serum levels of EGF,MMP-2 and IL-6 in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The expression of EGF,MMP-2 and IL-6 was related to the nuclear opacity intensity(NO),nuclear color(NC),opaque area of cortex(C)and opacity(P)grade of posterior capsule area under slit lamp, but not related to gender and age(P>0.05).The expression of EGF was positively correlated with that of MMP-2(r=0.345,P=0.004)and IL-6(r=0.306,P=0.009).Conclusion The expression of serum EGF,MMP-2 and IL-6 in patients with cataract is abnormal, and the expression of EGF is positively correlated with the expression of MMP-2 and IL-6,indicating that the abnormal expression of EGF,MMP-2 and IL-6 is involved in the occurrence and development of cataract.
