Research progress on the impact of mother-infant separation on offspring behavior and brain
Early life stress(ELS),those unfortunate events(abuse, neglect, etc.)encountered by individuals, will lead to changes in brain structure and function in adulthood, and increase the risk of mental diseases, such as depression,post-traumatic stress disorder and schizophrenia. In order to simulate the phenomenon of human left-behind children, the mother-infantseparation(MS)mod-el of rodents have been widely used, which is helpful to reveal the mechanism of the occurrence and development of ELS-induced dis-eases.This article systematically reviewed the research results of behavior and changes in the related brain regionsin MS models of ro-dents.
