Application of BEST method combined with OSCE assessment on the training of outpatient nurses'self-rescue and mutual rescue in combat trauma
Objective To explore the effect of BEST training method combined with OSCE assessment on the training of nurs-es'self-rescue and mutual rescue operation skills in combat trauma. Methods A total of 60 nurses from the outpatient Department of Eastern Theater Command General Hospital during 8 years were selected as the research subjects, and it was randomly divided into the control group and the experimental group within 30 nurses. The control group received the guided training with traditional teaching methods, while the training program of the experimental group received the homogenized unified baseline training with the BEST train-ing method. Both groups were tested by using OECE,and a questionnaire survey was used to evaluate the satisfaction of the training teaching methods for the training subjects. Results The theoretical test score of the experimental group(92.1±2.2 points)was high-er than that of the control group(89.6±2.4 points),and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The test scores of hemo-stasis,bandaging and fixation[(97.2±1.7)points,(97.8±1.0)points,(98.0±1.1)points]of experimental groups were higher than those of control group[(90.4±2.2)points,(91.2±1.6)points,(90.7±1.2)points],and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The overall teaching satisfaction of experimental group(86.66%)was higher than that of control group(56.66%),and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion The BEST training method combined with OSCE assessment is an ide-al training and assessment method for self-rescue and mutual rescue operation skills in combat trauma.
