Application and efficiency analysis of wireless radio frequency identification technology in blood station blood inventory management
Objective This study is aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of radio-frequency identification(RFID)technology in blood bank inventory management, particularly in terms of work efficiency, blood product cold chain security, and blood product quality improvement. Methods We implemented RFID technology to optimize the blood inventory management process at Huzhou Central Blood Station.By comparing work efficiency, blood product exposure time at room temperature, cold chain alarm rates, and blood quality indicators before and after the application of RFID technology,we conducted statistical analysis using SPSS 23 software to assess the practical effectiveness of RFID technology. Results After the implementation of RFID technology, work efficiency in key processes such as whole blood reception, finished product dispatch, and blood search were significantly improved, which the times decreased from(152.40±4.77)s,(61.40±3.20)s and(611.60±42.48)s to(14.50±0.67)s,(5.15±0.47)s and(30.55±2.27)s,respective-ly.Exposure time of blood products at room temperature was significantly reduced, and the cold chain alarm rate decreased from 21.67% to 9.59%.Blood product quality was also improved, with free hemoglobin content reduced from(0.31±0.15)g/L,(0.30±0.18)g/L to(0.21±0.11)g/L and Factor Ⅷ content increased from(1.00±0.21)IU/mL,(1.03±0.22)IU/mL to(1.12±0.15)IU/mL.Conclusion The application of RFID technology in blood bank inventory manage-ment significantly enhances work efficiency, strengthens the cold chain security of blood products, and improves blood quality,provid-ing a new efficient management model for blood supply and assurance. Therefore, the application of RFID technology is of great significance for enhancing the intelligence and automation level of blood inventory management.
