Objective:To understand awareness of HIV/AIDS testing services and testing willingness among undergraduate students in a normal university in Yancheng city of Jiangsu province,so as to provide a basis for further school health education on AIDS.Methods:Using a self-developed questionnaire on knowledge and ability to prevent AIDS among college students,a cluster sampling survey was conducted on all undergraduate students from the first to fourth year at a normal university in Yancheng city of Jiangsu province to investigate and analyze the awareness of testing services and testing willingness. Results:A total of 9046 valid samples were collected.Among the respondents,4.97%had sexual intercourse,21.74%actively sought AIDS related knowledge,29.47%knew that the university had automatic condom vending machines,22.16%knew that the university had HIV/AIDS test strip vending machines(or free access),and 76.75%had the willingness to actively seek HIV/AIDS testing if high-risk behavior occurred.Regular(OR=4.188)or occasional(OR=2.154)participation in school and class activities, and having received AIDS health education before attending college(OR=3.625)were positively associated with awareness of HIV/AIDS testing services.Regular(OR=3.313)or occasional(OR=1.988)participation in school and class activities, having had sexual intercourse(OR= 1.476),and having received AIDS health education before attending college(OR=3.255)were positively associated with the will-ingness to actively seek HIV/AIDS testing. Conclusion:The willingness of undergraduates to seek HIV/AIDS testing is strong, but the awareness rate of testing services is low,and it is affected by various personal and environmental factors,so few people put it in-to practice. It is crucial to consolidate the existing accomplishments in AIDS health education, enhance the AIDS information net-work platform using new media technology, integrate practical-oriented approaches with diverse sexual education models, conduct ongoing AIDS health education practices for students with distinct characteristics, strengthen pre-university AIDS health education, and encourage students to transition from knowledge seeking to taking proactive testing actions.
