Objective:To provide references for formulating efficiency improvement strategies,the operation efficiency and in-fluencing factors of tertiary public hospitals in Hainan Province were analyzed.Methods:The BCC model of data envelopment meth-od was used to measure the relative efficiency of tertiary public hospitals.Malmquist index model was used to analyze the dynamic efficiency of hospitals.Finally,Tobit random effects model was used to evaluate the influencing factors of hospital operation efficien-cy.Results:The average values of comprehensive technical efficiency,pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency of tertiary pub-lic hospitals in Hainan Province changed from 0.75,0.85 and 0.87 in 2017 to 0.71,0.89 and 0.81 in 2021,respectively.From 2017 to 2021,total factor productivity improved at an average annual rate of 1.5％,mainly due to the improvement of production technical efficiency at an annual rate of 2.1％.The scale of hospital,the status of medical center,the proportion of outpatients to in-patients and the effect of fixed assets had significant effects on hospital efficiency(P＜0.05).Conclusion:Tertiary public hospitals in Hainan Province are generally faced with the risk of over-expansion.In the future,we should rationally plan the scale of hospital development,pay attention to the improvement of hospital management and technological innovation level,pay attention to the po-tential improvement factors of hospital efficiency,and take the standardized,scientific and refined conformal development road.
