Assessment Study on the Reform Effectiveness of an Eight-year Clinical Medical Education and Training Model in a Beijing University Based on Medical Licensing Examination Scores
Objective:To evaluate the effectiveness of the reform in the eight-year clinical medical education program at a prestigious university in Beijing,based on the results of the medical licensing examination,which serves as a reference for educa-tional reforms in our country that aim to nurture high-caliber medical talents.Methods:The evaluation of the reform in the training mode at a university in Beijing was conducted,with the scores of the Medical Licensing Examination as the assessment metric.A Differences-in-Differences method and Event Study were used to assess the effectiveness of the clinical medical education reform.Results:The reform in the training mode of medical education significantly enhanced medical students'performance in the written test scores and practical skills scores.The net effects of the reform on improving written exam scores and practical skills scores were 28.318 and 1.831,respectively.The reform improved the students'clinical knowledge and applied knowledge scores by 0.435 and 0.418 standard units,respectively.The effectiveness of the reform showed a stable trend over time.Conclusion:The clinical medi-cal education reform has contributed to improving the scores of clinical medical students in the Examination of Licensed Doctors,and the reform in the training mode has yielded remarkable results.
