Objective:To investigate the status quo of voice behavior and voice style among physicians in public hospitals,explore the mediating role of voice style in the relationship between psychological safety and voice behavior,and provide references for promoting physicians'voice and improving hospital management.Methods:A questionnaire survey was conducted among 249 physicians using the self-administered physician voice behavior questionnaire(21items)and voice style scale(10 items)and adapted psychological safety scale(3 items).Results:The overall average score for physicians'voice behavior was(2.27±0.77).Among the five dimensions,namely"medical service","patient-centered","scientific research and teaching","hospital man-agement",and"organizational development",the dimension of"patient-centered"received the highest score(2.65±0.86).The total average scores for forthright and contextual voice style were(2.34±0.61)and(2.95±0.44),respectively.The average score for psychological safety was(2.84±0.58).Psychological safety was positively associated with physicians'voice behavior(β=0.247,P<0.001),and forthright voice style mediated the relationship between psychological safety and voice behavior,accounting for 37.8%of the total effect.Conclusion:Physicians'voice behavior was at a relatively low level,with more voice on the patient side and a preference for contextual voice,psychological safety was generally high,with the forthright voice playing a partial mediating role between psychological safety and voice behavior.
