Objective:To understand the status of mental health resources in Sichuan province,to comprehensively evaluate the medical service capacity of the sample institutions,so as to provide the basis for the health administrative departments to strengthen the management of institutions.Methods:Frequency/mean was used to describe the allocation of mental health re-sources in the province.According to Donabedian model,12 indicators were selected, including the number of beds, proportion of medical and technical personnel and ratio of hospital to bed,and entropy weight TOPSIS method was used to comprehensively eval-uate the health service capacity of sampling institutions. Results:In 2020,there were 328 mental health institutions in the prov-ince,including 142 psychiatric hospitals and 144 psychiatric departments in general hospitals. There were 80380 beds in the psy-chiatric department, with a bed density of 96.07/100000.There were 3222 mental health(assistants)practitioners, with a physi-cian density of 3.85/100000,and 10716 psychiatric registered nurses, with a nurse density of 12.81/100000.Mental health re-sources in northwest Sichuan economic zone lagged behind. The top three indexes for the weight of cities and counties were total hos-pital income>hospital-bed ratio>doctors'awareness rate of theoretical knowledge. The top three indexes for the weight of districts and counties were total hospital income>annual discharge>total hospital expenditure. The top three city-state hospitals of medical service capacity were A1>A3>A2,and the top three district-county hospitals were H1>H4>H18.Conclusion:The distribution of mental health resources in Sichuan province is still uneven.Hospitals'medical service capacity is still closely related to geographical location and local economic development level. It is necessary to strengthen the infrastructure construction such as the number of beds and the allocation of talents in areas with poor mental health resources, improve local residents'awareness of seeking medical treatment for mental diseases, and expand the coverage of medical services.
