Objective To investigate the effects of functional magnetic resonance imaging amplitude of fluctuation(PERAF)on resting state functional magnetic resonance imaging(RS-FMRI)and to investigate the changes of spontaneous brain activity in benign paroxysmal positional vertigo(BPPV).Methods Resting fMRI images were collected from 20 patients with BPPV(BPPV Group)and 14 healthy controls(HC Group). Results PERAF values in the left dorsolateral superior frontal gyrus and left supplementary motor area in BPPV group were lower than those in HC Group at the classical frequency band, while,PERAF values in slow-4 band were lower in BPPV Group than those in HC Group.Compared with HC Group,BPPV Group had lower PerAF values in left insula, left anterior cuneiform, left middle frontal gyrus and left supplementary motor area.I In the BPPV Group,PERAF values were decreased in the left middle frontal gyrus, left medial and para-cingulate gyrus, and left supplemen-tary motor area gyrus. Conclusion BPPV patients have functional disorders at resting state in several brain regions, suggesting central dysfunction and remodelling. The different sensitivity of abnormal brain regions to various frequency bands in BPPV pa-tients suggests that there is a frequency specificity of spontaneous brain activity in those patients.
