Objective To provide a basis for diagnosis and treatment of clinical diseases by analyzing the growth and devel-opment of bone age in children and adolescents in Nanning,China,so as to provide a reference for establishing regional stan-dards for bone age.Methods The wrist image data of children and adolescents aged from1 to18 years old in Nanning area were selected.The wrist bone was assessed using children's bone age scoreof China(tw-c)concise tutorial to analyze the bone age of the examinees,and statistical methods were used to analyze the differences between bone age and chronological age.Results There was a significant correlation between bone age and chronological age in 1965 children and adolescents in Nanning area(r= 0.929,P<0.05),the overall bone age of this population was older than the chronological age,and the boneagedifferencewas(0.24±1.36)years,and the difference was statistically significant(t=7.793,P<0.05).The positive rate of non-concordance between bone age and chronological age was 46.46%,the positive rate was relatively high after 8 years old.The percentage of boys with de-velopmental delay(25.54%)was higher than that of girls(9.65%)and that of girls with early developmental delay(36.59%)was higher than that of boys(21.14%),and the difference was statistically significant(χ2=110.14,P<0.05),and there was no dif-ference in the normal ratio of developing bone age between males and females(P>0.05).Conclusion The positive rate of bone age in children and adolescents in Nanning area is more remarkable after 8 years old,the bone age shows a trend of advance de-velopment,and in the course of individualized diagnosis and treatment of central precocious puberty and short stature,the girls should pay more attention to the advance of development,while,the boys need to focus on it.The results of this analysis provide a reference material for the improvement of a nationwide geographic bone age database.
